LACH DOUGLAS

Cruixton founder Lach Douglas has been involved in the agriculture sector for 45 years, initially working on properties in Western Queensland, followed by a 30-year career providing finance to the food and agriculture sector across Australia. Working for the world’s largest specialist financier to agriculture enabled him to expand his knowledge of global production systems, and the opportunity to lead and participate in numerous study tours to countries such as China, Philippines, Brazil, Paraguay, Netherlands, Germany and Ukraine.

During his career he worked across many different regions within Australia, providing finance to the main agricultural sectors including beef cattle, dairy, sugarcane, cotton, grain, intensive animal production (pork and poultry), horticulture, and viticulture. This experience gave him a strong understanding of the drivers of production and profitability in each of these sectors, as well as the specific risks.

Throughout his career he built long term relationships with clients and always looked to gain a deep understanding of their business, so that he was better able to understand and respond to their needs. With the founding of Cruixton, he has continued this approach as he provides services to family-owned agribusinesses across Australia. He understands the need for business to adapt to change and he continues to use his experience to assist these businesses to grow sustainably.
